Two volumes, both in near-pristine condition, make up 'The Rolls-Royce Story'.

Part One is subtitled 'The First 40 Years'. It starts with the meeting in May 1904 of Henry Royce and the Honourable C.S. Rolls and the subsequent formation of Rolls-Royce Limited. It takes the story through the Great War with the production of aero engines through the 1920s and the production of the Twenty and the Phantom cars. Further engine development also followed with the Rolls-Royce 'R' engine and, going into the Second World War, the Merlin engine and the jet engine.

Part Two is subtitled 'The Power Behind the Jets'. It takes the Rolls-Royce story from the end of the Second World War to the privatisation of the company in 1987.
