Muriel Foster's Fishing Diary

£39.99

Product description

The book is in landscape format. The boards and spine are brown leather-bound. The title is shown in gilt capitals on both front cover and spine with gilt lining around the periphery of each face. The spine also includes the publisher's name. The book is contained in a presentation cardboard box which is in very good condition. The top and bottom faces of the box include paintings of fish caught by Muriel Foster. The presentation box has protected the book such that there is no bumping to corners and no shelf wear. The hinges are in good condition apart from the rear fixed endpaper which is coming away slightly from the board near the spine. The pages are tightly bound to the spine. The pages are all cream-coloured, have not faded at all and are all well cut. Apart from Muriel Foster's diary entries of her fishing exploits, the book contains her drawings and paintings of fish, birds, animals and landscapes throughout. Muriel was primarily an artist; her interest in fishing came later. Also included in the presentation box is a leaflet written by Patricia King giving background information on Muriel Foster.
