A Child's Alphabet

£24.99

Product description

This early Puffin educational book, which first appeared in 1945, was still in use in 1951 when our copy was printed. Charmingly illustrated by Grace Gabler, it offers a wide-ranging selection of words from Ark to Zulu, not fearing to include multi-syllabic words such as Crocodile, or Honeysuckle.

We can find no information about Grace Gabler, who was clearly a talented illustrator.

Our copy is in very good general condition - a stapled softback of 29 pages, with one small area of loss at the bottom R/H corner of the back cover, with an associated, repaired tear (repair inside the cover) (see photo). One or two stains have marked the pages from R to the end, but otherwise there are no marks on the pages, and the colours are all bright and clean. A rare and collectable item.
