Blackie's Boys' Annual

£9.99

Product description

This delightful annual, which dates from 1930, is in very good condition for its age. The picture board cover, although bumped on corners and edges, remains bold and bright, displaying only minor signs of use. There is a dedication on the front free end paper "Richard With love & best wishes for Xmas 1930 from......". The front board illustration provides a helpful clue as to the type of stories within, a mixture of stirring stories and scientific articles by such authors as Percy F. Westerman and SetonGordon, with illustrated plates by several artists, including H. M. Brock R. I. and D. L. Mays. Text block edges are moderately foxed and a little toned but all text is clear on reasonably clean pages, there are a number of appealing b/w line drawings and many b/w plates. One of the four colour plates, which illustrates the pirate adventure "Marooned" by J. S. Elder, is detached from the binding but otherwise intact.
