ody seems able to stop the plundering and havoc caused by the three robbers, One-Eye, Ginger and Lefty. Even the police constable fears them, and anyway they are quite canny. The village folk decide the robbers have simply gone too far and must be stopped but it is an unlikely adversary that will get the true measure of the thieves. This story was invented, narrated, and illustrated by 1970s award winning childrens writer from Germany, Janosch. Although in the style of a fable, there is an earthy edge of realism to this tale. Janosch has a naive style of painting but his striking colour combinations are quite sophisticated.

Book Condition : near Good : some bumping to head and foot of cloth and some shelfwear along the edges of cloth; very narrow band of fading at some edges; otherwise cloth in very good shape; titling at spine intact and bright; three attached library labels at the front inside pastedown and blank ffep; occasional hint of minor thumb mark; and some toning at the very farthest margins of white pages; otherwise inside pages in good repair with rest of whites preserved and colours excellent; stitch binding slightly loose at page section 2 to 5 but still properly secured; slight split to bind at top of page 7; otherwise binding in good order. DJ Condition : Good : some creasing to edges of jacket; several tiny tears at edges; slight chipping at head and foot of spine area; only very minor rubbing; slight signs of possible marking to white areas in places; colours good with no evidence of any definite fading; not clipped; in presentable condition.
