Redcap Runs Away

£19.99

Product description

Redcap Runs Away, written by Rhoda Power, was first published in 1952. This Puffin edition was published in 1957, the year she died, and contains illustrations from drawings by C. Walter Hodges. The front cover has a colour illustration of Redcap running away, with the Puffin logo, book title and author's name above and 'A Puffin Story Book 3/6' below. The back cover is similar, but without the writing. The spine contains the same information as the front cover, but with 103 replacing the price.

The corners are bumped rather than dog-eared, which has effected the cover more than the text-block. Near the spine, there are tears on the front and back covers. A crease runs two-thirds of the length of the spine. Inside the covers and on the page edges are more light-faded (darkly) than foxed. The binding is tight, although the hinges, and some of the pages near them, are relatively loose. There are a number of line drawings illustrating the text, several of them full page. There are no signatures, annotations or scribbles in the book. Overall, it appears more well-read than mishandled.
