Richard

£9.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

Richard is a police horse, and belongs to the Mounted Branch of the Metropolitan Police Force. He lives in an elegant, blue-tiled stable in great Scotland Yard with fifteen other horses. His rider not only works with him, but feeds and cares for him, too, and there is a strong bond of understanding between man and horse. Richard's work takes him out into the city streets amongst traffic and crowds and noise. He has been trained not to fear theses things and trusts his rider completely. For about three hours a day he and his constable patrol their beat or perform whatever special duties are required of them. Then, at the end of his work, Richard returns to his stable, to the stall that has his name on the wall, and to his generous feed of oats, and a bed of clean, warm straw.

This book is in very good overall condition for its age with slight damage to the dustjacket at the top of the spine.
