The Pigeon Tale

£14.99

Product description

One of a series of four children's books by the same author, this is a sentimental tale of a small boy and talking animals. A hard backed book covered in green cloth, with white and black picture and script on the front, black lettering on the spine.
There is a large name stamp (A. Foster) in red on the front fixed end paper and again across page 32. On the ffep is a dedication: "Presented to Clarence Foster by primitive Methodist Sunday School Barton Jan 1919".
In addition to many delightful b/w line illustrations, some full-page, there are four charming full-page colour plates: pigeons, chicks, an owl with pigeons (they all seem to be getting on well, no carnage) and a turkey. Although they are all detached from the book they are all present and remain bright. All text is clear despite the venerable age of the book.
