The Rupert Book 1948

£11.99

Product description

This book is, to be frank, a mess. But it was produced 65 years ago and to economy standards still then in place. It was the possession of a youngster - Howard Lister if we are to believe the title page - and has done well to survive at all.
The covers were paper rather than board, and the front one is totally missing. On the first end page there are a couple of cigarette card cut-outs stuck in and the ownership page is filled in. The original cost was 4 shillings. There is some dog earing of both corners of the first 45 pages. The pages are a bit grubby but they all appear to be present and there is no tearing or disfigurement. There are 9 comic strip stories, two puzzle pictures and a page giving instructions in origami.

Once you look past the initial page or two this book is really not as bad as you might expect. Far too good to discard - but offered at a reasonable price.
