Publisher: Grosset & Dunlap, New York. 1951. Hardback, 214 pages, good with fair to good dustjacket. Believed first edition - reverse of title page states 'Copyright, 1951, by Grosset & Dunlap, Inc' and no further printing history. Cover, in fawn 'weave pattern' boards with brown titling to spine and front and brown design to front, is in good condition. Book, internally, is in generally good condition with tight binding and no tears or creases. Brown crayon marks on pages 53 and 114 which may be erasable, a water stain spot at bottom of pages 60 to 65 and some tanning spots to page block edges. Dustjacket is complete but has shelfwear to edges, a tear along front flap fold and some small tears/creasing along top edges of front, spine and back. Overall, a decent copy of this classic children's adventure.
