Subtitled as: "How to enjoy Books, the Arts and Hobbies". This is Book 5 of the Modern Children's Library of Knowledge. The book provides the information about the arts and pastimes by following the adventures of two children, Billy and Barbara. The book has tan coloured cloth-covered boards and spine. The front cover has a knowledge "device" in gilt. This device is repeated in colour on the page preceding the title page. The spine has the book title and series title in gilt lettering on a green background. This green area is over the tan cloth. The spine also has the publisher's name in gilt on a green background on the spine. The book has very little bumping to the corners and there is very little shelf wear. The endpapers depict coloured drawings of some of the book's subjects and are well-glued to the boards and well-stitched to the spine. The pages are well-cut. They are of a shiny heavyweight manufacture and have tan coloured edges. The book has coloured and black and white photographs and drawings throughout.
