William and the Pop Singers

£4.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

One of the last William books written, first published in 1965, four years before Richmal Crompton's death, here she brings William and his friends and family into the "Swinging Sixties". Includes, besides the title story, such gems as The Outlaws and the Ghost, and William's Escape Route.
Apart from minor scuffing to the paper covers and age toning to text block edges, also a little around the outer margins of the text pages, this Armada edition is in very good condition. The ffep, title page and introduction are loosening from the rest of the block but all else is intact. All text is clear, there are numerous b/w line illustrations, full of character, and the colourful jacket design is decidedly modern.

Richmal Crompton first wrote about William Brown in 1917 and the first book was published in 1922, William was aged 11 then and remains that age, all these years later.
