Worzel Gummdige Annual

£14.99

Product description

The Worzel Gummidge Annual was published in 1979 for 1980, by Brown Watson and Southstar Television. The boards are predominantly coloured yellow and green, with a colour photograph portrait of Jon Pertwee as Worzel Gummidge in the centre (front and back). Understandably, the photograph is bordered with cartoon blackbirds. The title 'Worzel Gummidge Annual' is written on the front and back in yellow upper-case lettering. On the spine it is written in red upper-case with the name of the publisher in black. The head and tail caps are bumped and torn, as is the bottom right corner (on the front only). The remaining three corners are all good. Both front and back boards are clean, although there is a small stain near the centre of the front fore-edge. All of the endpapers are secure, each with a different colour photograph of Pertwee as Gummidge, and the binding is tight. Edges of the boards are shelf worn, while those of the pages are clean. There are no dog-ears or scribbling on the pages.

The stories are text with illustrations, or photographs, and there are no cartoon strips. Stories are Worzel Gummidge in: First Encounter, Mrs Kibbins buys a Scarecrow, A Day at the Fair, The Missing Coat, The Gypsy's Baby, The Robin's Day Off. Features are: Meet Worzel Gummidge, Worzel's Young Friends (John and Sue Peters), Puzzle Time (x2), Geoffrey Bayldon, Jon Perwee, Una Stubbs, and Pets' Parade, as well as various colour and black & white photographs.
