This is a book printed in the United States, by arrangement with copyright 1895 George Barrie's Sons (as stated on the back of the titlepage). Volume V of 8 of the work. Contains chapters on The Cenci, Murat, Derues. 264 pages. With one illustration facing the tiutle page, another one before that has probably been removed. The book belonged to Arnold Bennet, his ex-libris in on the initial pastedown. Bound in blue cloth on hard boards, the front cover has gilt swords and lilies in lozenges, and a gilt monogram in the centre. The spine is very sunned, the back cover very rubbed, the front cover lightly rubbed. In good condition. The price is due to the ex-libris of the book.

One of the largest bookshops in the Oxfam network, Reading Books has more than 5000 different titles in the shop at all times. We have unusually large sections in science fiction and fantasy, literature, history, travel, children's, business and the sciences. There is plenty of space for browsing and a couple of chairs for customers who wish to inspect books more closely. We also have a catalogue of about 1000 collectable books that are kept in the backroom, and these can be brought out for customers to view on request.
