Immortal Dyer

£19.99

Product description

A fictional biography of Jeff Lister, the 'Pride of Norfolk', the 'King of the Commons' who led the Norfolk rebels in the Peasants' Revolt of 1381. The book is undated but the jacket rear flap has a publishers book list dated Spring 1948. The blue covers have rubbed corners and bumped spine ends, and the rear cover is pressed inwards and has circular impressions caused by supporting a heavy weight. Text block edges and end papers are lightly browned. The jacket has suffered damage, with chips, tears and areas of loss to corners, edges and spine ends; several small puncture holes down the spine; the front flap has split from the bottom along most of its length; some noticeable dust soiling on the back but the front illustration is only lightly marked. Of all the leaders of the Peasants' Revolt, Jeff Lister was far and away the most picturesque. He was an idealist and a humorist - a rare combination - and he gave his life for the cause he served.
