Mike A Public School Story

£29.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

A scarce book, "Mike - A Public School Story" By P. G. Wodehouse, is from the Black's Boys' Library series, published in Autumn 1924.
A great early novel by P. G. Wodehouse, originally written before the First World War, here is the story of Mike Jackson, a boarding-school teenager, involving cricket and Public School life in England in happier times. No dust jacket but the pale blue boards, with gilt and black decoration, are of a most attractive design.
Despite bumped corners, a little sunning to boards and a small split in the fabric covering at top of rear spine, also missing ffep and exposed webbing inside boards at front and back, this remains an attractive and appealing book. There are 4 full-page illustrations in colour by J. H. Hartley; the frontispiece is partly detached for approx 40% of its length, the other three illustrations are intact, although the one opposite page 266 has two small stains at the top, however they all remain colourful and amusing.
