The Flax of Dream

£29.99

Product description

The Flax of Dream was published originally as four separate volumes. This is the first publication of the books in one volume, as envisaged by the author. This is a second impression which has a different dust jacket from the true first edition.
The dust jacket is present but damaged: front and back sections are intact, but the spine is in two pieces, both damaged and detached from the rest of the jacket. Edges of the text block are toned, foxed and the lower edge is ruffled. All text pages are clean and the block is tight.
Though now considered a somewhat controversial figure with rather right-wing views, Henry Williamson has long been thought of as having "an exquisite feeling for the beauty of nature which he can evoke in lyrical prose of great charm", but this novel covers the experiences of one particular individual before, during and after the First World War.
