The Flight of the Falcon

£14.99

Product description

1st edition hardback with dust jacket. DJ has several segments missing and is now protected by a temporary disposable sleeve. It is not price-clipped. The book has red cloth boards, faded at top and bottom of spine and with the title and author in gilt. The spine has a slight slant and the hinges are showing signs of wear. The text is clean and unmarked.
"A young courier ... conducts a coach party of Anglo-American tourists from Genoa to Rome... a vagrant woman lies asleep in the doorway of a church near the via Veneto... Later that night, handed a note for ten thousand lire by an American client, he walks to the end of the street, and on impulse puts the note into the hand of the woman still sleeping in the doorway of the church" This is the start of an intriguing tale set in Italy and bearing the trademark du Maurier atmosphere of underlying menace.
