Book is in very good condition.

Stendahl's work is frequently identified as one of the first realist novels of the nineteenth century, exploring life in and around Paris during the 1820's and 30's. Translated by Charles Tergie, with illustrations by Jean Paul Quint. This edition was published by The Oxford University Press as part of the subscription series The Oxford Library of the World's Great Books.
