The subtitle is "Responses to HIV/AIDS in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean". The author is an expert in this field and this book is the fruit of eight years of research in a variety of different countries. The early chapters recount the emergence of the disease from Chimpanzees and gorillas up until the 1960ies. The spread thereafter by silent exposure via skin piercing needles and the like until the explosion in numbers of patients and global interest up until 2007. He then looks to the future in the hope that public health and personal treatment may control the epidemic.

Adonis and Abbey paperback. In good condition with minimal corner wear to the covers. There is a signature on the title page which may well be that of the author (Interpretation is difficult) No other marks and good binding.
