A local history written by Briercliffe born teacher Roger Frost, writer of "The Weavers' Triangle" for Radio Blackburn, and a member of several local history societies. After setting the scene Frost covers farming, textiles, extractive and other industries, transport, church and chapel, school days, township and parish, water supply, living conditions, folklore, and other items. Numerous b/w photographs are included. The book is in fine condition; loose inside is a note about book prices by Roger Frost, and a form inviting readers to join a local history group. The book has a jacket, without flaps, larger than the book itself, and consequently has creases and wear along edges which overlap; there are three sticky tape residue marks on the spine.
