A very brief history of the regiment from its raising in 1685, through its service under Marlborough, its participation in the war with Spain and France between 1739 and 1748, its involvement in the conquest of Canada and the War of American Independence, its contribution in the Napoleonic War, the role it played in 1879-80 in Afghanistan, its deployment and campaigning in the Boer War, to its operations in the Great War and events in the post-war period from 1919 to 1933.

Good condition. Maroon cardboard cover with embossed regimental emblem. Cover shows some shelf-wear and creasing to lower front corner. Pages generally are clean but there is some foxing, mainly to endpapers, and rust on binding staples has caused some very localised staining. However binding is secure.

We are a specialist shop nestled in the heart of Jesmond, a lovely residential area of Newcastle Upon Tyne. We opened in July 2010 and have on offer 5,000 books, 2,000 records, CDs and games as well as sheet music, cards and stationery within the shop.
