Book, very good, blue cloth boards with gold lettering, some yellowing of pages but generally clean and bright, binding tight. Dj good, not price clipped, chips and small tear (<1cm) to front, one larger tear (approx 5cm) to back. At the outbreak of war the Blue Star line had a fleet of 38 ships, during hostilities it lost 29 of these including all its passenger liners, 646 personnel lost their lives. This book does not pretend to be a history, rather it is the story of some of the ships of the Blue star line pieced together from various sources including narratives of some of those who took part in the incidents described. Includes b/w photos, a fold out map, lists of personnel and ships lost and honours won.
