Britain and the Sea

£29.99

Product description

This large book, commissioned by the Royal Navy, details the country's relationship with the sea. It covers many naval military aspects as well as civil, geographical, diplomatic and educational aspects of maritime affairs. The book covers both historical and modern topics. It has text and both colour and black & white photographs throughout. The book has blue cloth covered boards and spine. The front cover shows the book title and a regal crown in gilt lettering. The spine carries the same details as well as an insignia of the Royal Navy also in gilt. This same insignia is also to be found on the rear cover. The book has no bumping to the corners although there is some shelf wear along the bottom edge, primarily due to the book's weight (4.3 kg). The light blue endpapers are well-glued to the boards and well-stitched to the spine. The pages are well cut. The pages show no sign of discolouration although there is some minor spotting on the front endpapers and the first few pages. The top edges of the pages also show some discolouration.
