This is an account of a relationship marred by conflict from the time Churchill was a junior minister in 1907 to bitter disputes over the use of Australian troops in the Second World War.This connection spanned the first fifty tumultuous years of the 20th century, from the Boer war through to the onset of the Cold War, and acted as a backdrop to Australia's progression from a collection of dependent colonies to full nationhood. 613 pp including b/w photographs. The dust jacket shows minimal shelf wear and rubbing and is not price-clipped.The black boards are only lightly rubbed and bumped at the extremities and the binding is tight. There are several faint scuffs on the cut edges but the text is very clean and unmarked.

One of the largest bookshops in the Oxfam network, Reading Books has more than 5000 different titles in the shop at all times. We have unusually large sections in science fiction and fantasy, literature, history, travel, children's, business and the sciences. There is plenty of space for browsing and a couple of chairs for customers who wish to inspect books more closely. We also have a catalogue of about 1000 collectable books that are kept in the backroom, and these can be brought out for customers to view on request.
