This book studies a group of religious movements which belong roughly in the period between 1650 and 1750. Looking for commonalities it includes movements such as Quakerism, Pietism, Quietests, Moravians and early Methodists and discussion about the real meaning of the word 'Enthusiasm' which was used by its 18th century critics to discredit this odd assortment of theologies.
