Eucharistic Celebration 1789-1979

£9.99

Product description

Eucharistic Celebration 1789-1979 makes an important contribution to the Episcopal Church's understanding of the forms of worship prescribed by the present Book of Common Prayer. This book puts the Prayer Book into historical perspective admirably. It surveys changing forms of Anglican worship since the sixteenth century and provides a strong narrative of the development of those liturgical forms in the United States over the last two centuries. In the process, Father Stuhlman induces the reader to ponder the relationship between liturgy and belief in both the present and the past. The discussion of architecture and ceremony as aspects of doctrinal development is particularly rich.

Rites/Eucharistic theology in Anglicanism, and of the architectural settings, ceremonial, and music associated with the rites. The book contains an excellent glossary and bibliographies.

Condition- The dust jacket is showing its age and has some fading to the spine. It also has wear and tear to the corners. The front of the dust jacket has a small crease on the front and is rather worn on the corners.back is in slightly better condition, a previous retail sticker present.. The book itself is in very good condition and has been protected well by the dust jacket. The interior pages are crisp and clean with a tight binding.
