This softcover book is in very good condition overall. The cover of the book has some visible markings on the back, as well as some slight wear around the edges and corners. Inside, the pages of the book are in very good condition and are without major, if any, issue. The book was published in 1990 by the USSR Ministry of Culture. The book is written in multiple languages, English being one of them.

'All the artists whose works are displayed at the exhibition painted Russian Folk peasant costumes. During many centuries the peasant costume was made to the same design and ornament which could be explained by the peasants' conservative mode of life and customs passed on from generation to generation. Changes which occurred in the costumes of the urban population as a result of Peter the Great's reforms did not affect the peasant costume which not change up to the end of the 19th century when the development of capitalism and the urban style in fashion greatly influenced the peasant mode of life.'
