A Ladybird Adventure from History, series 561. Written by L Du Garde Peach with illustrations by John Kennedy.

Like all Ladybird books, some investigation is required to accurately ascertain the true publication date: Indications are that this book was published around 1960:

- Buff-coloured boards with blue lettering and illustration. (earlier than 1965)
- Open-winged butterfly logo. (earlier than 1961)
- Illustrated end papers showing a map of Southern England
- Other books published by Ladybird page on rear dust flap indicates only 10 titles published in series 561 (although this title is not shown as last on the list).
- Price 2'6

Some rubbing wear on the edges of the dust jacket, particularly on the spine. slight bumping to the corners. The list of titles on the rear dust flat has been annotated in pencil and crayon (see image 5). The boards and pages are generally clean and have not been annotated.
The inside pages are all complete, the binding is sound and overall the book in a reasonable condition.
