Lancing A Pictorial History

£9.99

Product description

Phillimore & co. Ltd, 1982

A century ago, Lancing had a population of about eight hundred. Today it houses some 17,000 people and has changed almost beyond recognition through the development of new estates and the destruction of so many of the older buildings. In this book Dr. Shaw has attempted to record something of the way of life in those bygone days, as well as the scene. It is fortunate that a number of people who have lived in Lancing for more than 80 years have been able to give invaluable help in the preparation of this book, filling out the written records with detail and human interest. Old photographs have a fascination for most people, Dr. Shaw has a made a selection that, together, have the extra dimension of forming a coherent and compelling history of Lancing.

Book is in excellent condition. Small mark on back board. Dustjacket price clipped on front flap. Binding secure.
