SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR: Dark blue cloth covered book in poor condition, it leans, there is staining on the front and back covers, the corners are bumped and the pages inside are discoloured with age. The hinge to the back cover is loose but still attached. The titles on the front cover and the spine are gilt. Inside the front and rear covers there are marks where sticky tape has been used. Although some of the pages are grubby there is no foxing throughout the book. The book is fully illustrated with many monochrome photographs of people and buildings in Murston, plus few at the back of the book showing the Elmley Ferry which ran between Murston and the Isle of Sheppey, Kent. The author's signature is on the frontispiece which is a photograph of him. The book was published in Sittingbourne, Kent in 1930, no publisher is named, only the printers, W J Parrett.
