Multiple papers and their subsequent discussion recorded in these books. The conference was conceived by Elmhirst and his wife. Some 50 agricultural economists spent about a fortnight in south Devon and their discussions ranged far and wide. The came from a variety of countries - USA, New Zealand, Denmark, Ireland, Scotland, Finland, China and South Africa. (The group photograph reveals that the membership was entirely male at the first conference but there was a small female contingent in the second.). These conferences were considered "an unqualified success" the ones in the intervening years having been held in a variety of countries
The Collegiate Press hardback with no DJ. Good binding and no marks, with a little corner wear of the boards.. The blue cloth covered boards have some superficial white lines externally.
