'Rhymes of the Northern Bards: Being a Curious Collection of Old and New Poems, Peculiar to the Counties of Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland and Durham' was first published in a small edition of 400 copies in 1812. This is the first reprint, published by Frank Graham in 1971. This facsimile edition was limited to 950 copies. John Bell's pioneering work is arguably the most important collection of north country songs ever issued. The book includes an introduction by David Harker which includes both a biographical sketch of John Bell and a short description of the social and cultural influences which were at work in nineteenth century Newcastle.

The book is in very good condition. It is clean and without inscriptions or other marks. The spine has a slight lean. The dustwrapper is in good plus condition being clean and undamaged but with a slightly faded and darkened spine.
