Product description

Rural Russia Under the Old Regime: A History of the Landlord-Peasant World and a Prologue to the Peasant Revolution of 1917.

A hardback volume bound in darkest blue with gilt lettering. Wear is commensurate with the age of the book (1932): the boards are bumped on edges and corners, boards are a little scuffed here and there with a few small blotches. Both end papers are partly detached, exposing some webbing, the front fixed and paper has a library label affixed (University of London Commerce Degree Bureau, W. C. 1. LIBRARY) above the original bookseller's label (H. K. Lewis & Co. LTD., ..... WC1). The free front end paper has a previous owner's signature with date, neatly written in the top right corner. The rear fixed end paper has the loans label attached, with 9 dates shown from 1938-1948. The title page is slightly marked by transfer of black pigment from the frontispiece, however all the details are clearly legible.
Page edges are uncut, all text is clear, the body of the text is followed by a useful glossary, appendices, notes on the text, a comprehensive bibliography and index.
