This book gives an in depth history into the area and this 2nd edition goes further into detail about the two families who lived connected with the little village through many generations, Marmion and Dymoke. The chapters include 'The Lincolnshire Insurrection and Pilgrimage of Grace' and 'Latter Day Champions' as well as sections on 'Lincolnshire'. This book features 18 black and white illustrations and a frontispiece depicting specific landmarks from the book including a colour illustration of the Dymoke Coat of Arms. The book also has a large A2 size family history folded and stuck in.

The book is in a good condition appropriate for its age. It has been rebound so does not feature the original gilded letter cover, however it has the same bright red, hardback cover which has been kept well and is very clean.
