The A to Z of Victorian London

£24.99

Product description

Very good condition with little to no wear. Internally clean and bright.

The A to Z of Victorian London, with introductory notes by Ralph Hyde. The volume is in three basic parts - introductory notes, an atlas and a place name index. The atlas is formed of reduced scale reproductions of the sheets of George W Bacon's 1888 New Large Scale Ordnance Atlas of London and suburbs with supplementary maps. This atlas includes two maps - one of 34 sheets covering inner London at a scale of 9 miles to the inch and one of 25 sheets covering a wider area at a scale of 4 miles to the inch. The index which relates to both maps is a reproduction of that included in the Bacon atlas and contains about 10,000 place names.
