£9.99

Product description

‘James Fenimore Cooper and the Democracy of Switzerland’. Lüdeke suggests that Cooper’s ideal political system would have been, “a combination of the two countries – American democracy and Swiss sense of social values”.
‘The Democracy of Henry Adams’, which is primarily an analysis of the novel ‘Democracy’, written by Adams in the late 1870s.
‘Zola and the American Public’.
‘Stephen Crane’s Poetry’.
‘Robert Herrick: Novelist of American Democracy’.
‘Venetian Glass: The Poetry and Prose of Elinor Wylie’. This essay assesses the work of Wylie with a special focus on her novel, ‘The Venetian Glass Nephew’, which was set in 18th Century Venice and published in 1925.
