The Diabolical

£17.99

Product description

Sub title "An account of the adventures of five people who set out in a converted ford lorry to make a journey from Palestine to England across Asia Minor and the Balkans." The story of an adventure in the years between the world wars.

Duckworth. 1934. Hardback with no DJ. We are being very modest in our pricing - for good reason I'm afraid. This is an ex-library book from the British Red Cross and order of St John library with a stamp on the reverse of the front cover. It has had some sort identification label secured by a metal tag. The label has gone and taken with it a section of the spine cover presumably including the title. There is moderate wear to the both ends of the spine cover and to the outside of the front hinge. On both the front and rear boards there is a somewhat nondescript linear drawing. There are two maps inset into the text and both are present. There are also 35 black and white photographs and all are present BUT thee of the sheets are loose, two completely detached and one holding by a thread. Needless to say the free edges of the loose pages have become worn and eroded. Owner's name and the date 1935 on ffep in pencil.

It isn't a happy story, but this is a first edition of a book which commands quite high prices. At a modest outlay and with some care and attention this could be a nice book
