The Ethiopian Penal Code of 1930

£29.99

Product description

It is exactly what the title would lead you to expect. It is preceded by a Proclamation "The Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah Haile Selassie I chosen by the Lord Emperor of Ethiopia" . Follow five sections - The Law and number for the punishment of criminals, crime against the government, against the person, against property and the punishment of the man who breaks small laws. It seems extraordinary to compress the entire legal system into a small paperback but the date and the geography offer together an explanation.

Directorate of the Ethiopian Army paperback. The cover is completely detached from the text body. The covers are in light card and are grubby and stained. There is an owner's name on the front. The text block is in good condition apart from some dog-earing of the lower corner of the first few pages.

A piece of history.
