Is part of the "Collection of British Authors", inscription which appears at the beginning of the books up to volume VI. Publication date is from 1849 to 1861. Title from vol. II onwards is completed by "From the accession of James the second". Each volume is approximately 350-400 pages long, voll. IX and X only around 280 pages. A litograph of Macaulay facing the frontispiece of the first volume, signed "A. Weger sen. Leipzig". Volumes I, II, III have Index on the final pages, Vol. V has Index to Vol. IV and V; vol. VIII has Index to volumes VI, VII, VIII on pages 269-335; vol. X has index to all volumes on pp. 97-280. Volumes IX and X are edited by his sister, Lady Trevelyan, as stated on the frontis. All volumes bound in half calf on marbled paper. The books are rubbed and worn in some places, but generally in good condition. The latter volumes have darker paper (less rubbed?). No parts missing.

One of the largest bookshops in the Oxfam network, Reading Books has more than 5000 different titles in the shop at all times. We have unusually large sections in science fiction and fantasy, literature, history, travel, children's, business and the sciences. There is plenty of space for browsing and a couple of chairs for customers who wish to inspect books more closely. We also have a catalogue of about 1000 collectable books that are kept in the backroom, and these can be brought out for customers to view on request.
