The last Japanese Soldier, Cpl Yokoi's 28 incredible years in the Guam jungle

£34.99

Product description

The island of Guam was captured by the Japanese Imperial Army on 10th December 1941, and it remained in their possession until the Americans landed there in July 1944. In May 1960 2 Japanese soldiers were found living under the belief that the war had not ended. These were thought to Imperial Japan's last 2 soldiers. Yet 12 years later another Japanese soldier was discovered. Shoichi Yokoi had lived alone for most of the preceding 28 years in an underground dug-out. This book tells the story of Lance Corporal Yokoi's long ordeal.

Hardback book with dust jacket. The book is bound in black. The dust jacket only has some very minor marks, and is not price-clipped. The binding is slightly distorted, leaving the spine lying at an angle. Otherwise the book is in very good condition, with clear text and pictures throughout.
