The life of Sir J.M. Grierson by D.S. MacDiarmid published By Constable & Company Ltd 1923. Hardback book with 279 pages. First edition - very rare. No dustjacket. The red boards are marked, scratched and faded commensurate with age with significant shelf wear. The spine is generally tight although the back board is somewhat loose. There is some wear to the spine towards the end of the book. Internally the book is tanned commensurate with age. There are two both pencil and ink inscriptions on the front end papers and significant foxing on the first few pages and sporadically throughout the book. The page block edge is worn and tanned. There is a tissue guarded frontispiece photograph which is in good condition. Other than showing signs of age-related wear, the book is in a decent condition with no creases or tears. A rare and interesting account of a distinguished military person.
