The Maple Sugar Book

£19.99

Product description

Whoever has tasted the sweetness of maple syrup or bitten into maple sugar will find tempting fare in this comprehensive story of maple. The author's aim is to describe in detail the process of maple sugaring, present some interesting aspects of maple history, and relate their experiment in homesteading and making a living from maple to the larger problem faced by so many people: "how should one live?" Contains a section with 14 maple product recipes. The book has pale orange cloth boards and gilt titles and is in very good condition; light bumping to spine ends; faint foxing speckles on the upper text block edge. Former owner's name and town plus date, 1950, inscribed in black ink to the top of the front end paper. Chapter headings illustrated with decorations from old prints. The jacket has some light soiling noticeable on the back, foxing down flap folds and on upper edges and to a small area on the front cover; browned down the spine; light creasing and surface wear to the top of the spine and to corners. However, the jacket is now covered in a protective cellophane cover.
