About this item

A History of the firm whose products included HP Sauce, HP Baked Beans and Daddies Sauce, covering manufacturing developments, employees, wars, sports events and transport innovations including trams and Bedford vans. Photos including women employees, Birmingham trams, promotional drives, 1890 representatives, boys tasting baked beans at Kelvin Hall in 1958, a boiler house, a tomato plant in Turkey, and examples of advertising. One plate including acetate sheet superimposed on 1975 aerial photo of the firm's HQ in Birmingham, another over a map of the land surrounding Aston Hall. Founder Edwin Samson Moore had links with Pinks of Portsmouth in the 1870s and his cousin Edward Eastwood was Thomas Telford's cousin.
