Time and Traditions: Essays in Archaeological Interpretation

£4.99

Product description

Book is in very good condition considering its age (published 1978). The dust jacket is slightly worn, but the boards are very clean and the pages are clean and unmarked.

"The concise format of an essay may compel an author to express his key ideas with a clarity that is often lacking in longer works. This is particularly likely when essays deal with theoretical issues as part of an extended programme of research. The main theme that animates these essays is the conviction that a better understanding of the past, as distinguished from formulating timeless laws about human behaviour, is itself of value and therefore a worthy goal for archaeologists. Such an understanding of prehistory is an integral aspect of the scientific investigation of human behaviour."
