This is a large (29.5cm x 21.5cm) hardback book with a glossy dust jacket. It is in good condition, apart from some brown marks on the half title and the title pages and also at the back of the book.

The Waikanae area of New Zealand has a long and fascinating history stretching back to the first Maori inhabitants. Part one of this book focuses on Waikanae's social history, both Maori and Pakeha, while part two is concerned with the landscape and ecology of the area. Among the 248 pages are many colour and black and white photographs and illustrations of the area and its people.

Will appeal to anyone who has visited NZ or comes from that fascinating country.
