Product description

Faded light blue cloth cover with slight bumping to the corners on the front. There is some foxing to the back cover. The dust jacket is price unclipped, it has quite a lot of wear along the upper and lower edges and there is a tear on the spine. A previous owner's name is inscribed on the fep dated Sept 18th 1956. Internally the pages are a little discoloured with age but are clean and tightly bound. Illustrated with one full colour frontispiece and many black and white photographs. Published in 1950 by The Nationial Council of Social Service. Enclosed with the book are three photographs of the opening of a Youth Hostel at Speen in Buckinghamshire with a description of the people in the photographs. The book tells the story of the foundation of the Youth Hostels Association and its story up to 1950.
