Sotheby's Sale 7000 originally scheduled for September 11-19 1997, actually held February 19-28 1998. Three softback volumes in a card slipcase, the volumes are in excellent condition, the slipcase has some superficial surface wear plus a small bump on one edge and a small crack at one of the lower corners. Also includes information about the postponement of the sale from September 1997 to February 1998 due to the deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Fayed. Three volumes which catalogue the sale of items from the collection of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. The sale included private and public items such as clothing, bedding and towels, jewellery, photographs and furniture. The outstanding quality and importance of the collection provided a fascinating insight into the lives of two of the most celebrated personalities of the twentieth century. Many of the items document the Duke's life as heir to the throne. The two hefty volumes present 3311 lots, well annotated and fully illustrated. The thin informational volume includes introductory sections titled Genealogy of H.R.H. The Duke of Windsor; The Wardrobe of the Duchess of Windsor; The Wardrobe of the Duke of Windsor; Floor Plan of No. 4 Route du Champs d'Entrainement; Chronology of Events; and selected bibliography.

Oxfam Bookshop Lymington

Lymington is on the South coast, bordering on the New Forest National Park which was created as a Royal Forest in 1079 by William the Conqueror, and first recorded as 'Nova Foresta' in the Doomsday Book in 1086. Our Oxfam Shop at 73, The High Street is in a lovely Georgian building, the tallest in Lymington. The elegant Georgian buildings lining the wide main street were built mostly for merchants in the local salt trade. The famous Saturday market brings the town to life with its variety of stalls. The area is renowned for outdoor pursuits, including camping, sailing, windsurfing, and surfing, as well as forest walks and horse riding.
