The 8th edition published by John Murray in a set of four volumes. Hardback. Blue-grey cloth board covers with gilt lettering on spine. Dust jackets (one with plastic protector).
Volume I: 1970
Volume II: 1973
Volume III: 1976
Volume IV: 1980

Volumes 2-4 are in quite good condition, apart from slight fading, due to age. Volume 1 has some scuffing and minor tears to the edges of the dust jacket. The front end papers are wrinkled and there is slight foxing. The binding is secure on all four volumes and the inside pages are clean.

This definitive work on trees and shrubs first appeared in 1914. It has been comprehensively revised and updated and remains an essential reference tool for gardeners, foresters, lovers of trees and explorers of woodlands.

Requires 9 inches of shelf space.
