The Psychic Nature of Physiology

£9.99

About this item

From flyleaf: John M. Dorsey. M.D . University Professor Emeritus. Wayne State University describes and explains the overriding health importance of the growth of self-awareness specifically designating the psychic factor in all of his self-education. He asserts that sustained self-discipline for self-understanding is the health care delivery concept of the first order, the incalculably precious requirement of sanity. And he finds that the most successful life fulfilment must be the outcome of continuously conscious life unification: As does every other function of man. so does his unique power of self-consciousness grow strong from use and atrophy from disuse. Dr. Dorsey’s is a position thesis on the hidden danger to life in all of his physiological work that does not honor and heed the strictly mental nature of his every scientific observation.
Growing a conscious psychic approach to the study of physiology, the result of a long historical development, may hardly appeal immediately to the veteran scientist whose ingrained psychic habit might be that of promptly excluding what he calls "mind" from what he calls "body." Hopefully, it may stand less chance of quick preferential rejection from the beginning student in any of the health disciplines.
